The Society for Church Archaeology Annual Conference

Each year, the Society holds a two/three-day academic conference on a theme pertaining to church archaeology, which also incorporates the AGM for the Society. Conferences are held in the autumn, most often in September, and any member of the Society or outside interested party is welcome and encouraged to attend. Conference information is always sent out to members in our summer newsletter, but the earliest and most up-to-date information will be posted on the website. Conference programmes and booking forms can be found here and downloaded.

Upcoming Conferences

The 2024 Conference will take place in Gloucester on September 14-15, on the theme 'Transforming Church Archaeology: New Directions and Approaches'. The conference will take place in the Folk of Gloucester, a Tudor building in the city centre. For more details, see here.

Student Bursaries

Each year, we are able to offer up to four student bursaries covering the conference fees. Please contact the Treasurer if you are interested in applying for a bursary.
